The MFA Creative Writing Program has been ranked 6th out of 144 MFA programs by Poets and Writers magazine.
The University of Wisconsin-Madison MFA Creative Writing Program has been ranked 6th out of 144 MFA programs by Poets and Writers magazine - one of the most visible and important writers' magazines in the country - in their upcoming November 2009 issue.
The UW-Madison program, only in its 7th year, is by far the youngest ranked in top tier MFA programs. Many peer programs have been around for decades.
The ranking is based on a wide range of data including funding, faculty, numbers of applicants, numbers of admissions, collegiality, success of graduates and more.
