The Wingra Quintet (left to right): Linda Bartley, clarinet; Marc Vallon, bassoon; Linda Kimball, horn; Dawn Lawler, flute; Marc Fink, oboe
The Wingra Woodwind Quintet, ensemble in residence at the School of Music, departs for France on November 7 to participate in the Biennial International Woodwind Quintet Festival taking place in and around Marseille.
The quintet will give concerts in Nice and Carry and lead a master class at the Nice Conservatory.
The Wingra Quintet previously participated in the festival in December 2005, when it was the first American quintet invited to do so.
In February 2008, Wingra returned the favor by hosting the Marseille Woodwind Quintet for a Guest Artist Series residency at the School of Music. The present tour is supported by the Graduate School and the School of Music.
