| Perry adds creative pursuits to a life of music, teaching |
David Perry, professor of violin and first violinist of the Pro Arte Quartet, has pursued a variety of creative and pedagogical activities over the past year.
In November, he was jury chairman for the 2008 (inaugural) Joan and Daniel Rutenberg Chamber Music Competition, held at the University of South Florida. He is featured on a NAXOS recording by the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra of Symphonies concertantes and the Violin Concerto in D major by Ignaz Pleyel, released in April.
And Perry returned for the 20th season to the Aspen Festival, where he teaches some of the nation’s most talented young violinists—including two from his studio at UW-Madison this summer—and performs chamber music with other artist faculty.
