Kauffman Internship Program

10/22/2009 09:28:46 AM

The Kauffman Entrepreneurship Community Internship Program 2009-10

The Kauffman Entrepreneurship Internship Program provides an opportunity for students to demonstrate motivation and creativity through the construction of a social entrepreneurship project with members of Wisconsin communities. In previous years, students studied the workings of grassroots autonomy through community outreach, created a Spanish-language camp for elementary school students, and collaborated with allies to bring back to life a community library on the Red Cliff Reservation in northern Wisconsin.

These are just some of the examples you can read about on the KECIP web page:  www.lssaa.wisc.edu/kecip. Demonstrate your initiative, creativity, and motivation and help make our communities a better place to live.

What is it?  A paid internship working with a community group in Dane County, Ashland, WI, or Milwaukee.

Who is eligible?  Juniors and seniors (minimum 2.0) and graduate students (minimum 3.0 GPA) in good academic standing, carrying at least one (1) active credit during the term of the project.

How do I get more information?   Come to an information session at 4:00 p.m. October 29 or October 30, at Memorial Union (check TITU)

Why Kauffman? Through community-based projects you will be a catalyst for social change and you can directly affect our communities while enhancing your education and advocating for local involvement.

Questions: Contact Emily Gaynor at egaynor@wisc.edu or Julie Case at jcase@wisc.edu, Ben Rodriguez at brodrig@wisc.edu

Pass/Fail Deadline Friday (9/25)!

9/24/2009 08:54:02 AM

The last day to switch a course from "Graded" to "Pass/Fail" is this Friday. Also remember that students in L&S no longer need to submit a signed form to our office. The process is entirely electronic, although it is recommended that students keep a copy of their request for their own records.

Processing requests might take up to a week and delay the change in your MyUW Student Center. This is due to the volume of requests that our office typically receives from students.
